Classical Movements Was Born In 1992

And We're In Good Company!

Our journey began 34 years ago.

Here’s what else was happening when it all started!

The Soundtrack of the Year!

Whitney Houston's iconic recording of “I Will Always Love You” became a defining musical moment of 1992.

The Dream Team Takes the Court!

Basketball's legendary U.S. Dream Team won gold at the Barcelona Olympics—where athletes from around the world came together on one international stage

A Whole New World!

Disney's Aladdin hit theaters in 1992—a fitting addition to a year when our own global journey was beginning. Like a genie with a magic lamp, we’ve been helping musicians discover a whole new world since 1992.

No magic carpet required!

Classical Musicians of the Year!

Musical America honored Robert Shaw as Musician of the Year and Yo-Yo Ma as Instrumentalist of the Year.

Nobel-Worthy Connections!

In 1992, Derek Walcott of Saint Lucia won the Nobel Prize in Literature—a country where we would later take George Washington University’s International Education Department! That same year, Rigoberta Menchú Tum received the Nobel Peace Prize and would go on to become a Classical Movements client. Talk about being in good company!

Our Musical Journey Begins!

Classical Movements started building a legacy of international performances, cultural exchange, and musical connection—one that continues to grow 34 years later.

Navigating the World,

One Paper Map at a Time

Before internet, email, smartphones, and Google... back when you could walk right to the gate at an airline- even if you didn't have a ticket!

Classical Movements opened our office in the heart of Washington DC's Dupont Circle with 2 computers, 3 desks, 4 telephones, 5 cents in the bank, a dream, a fax machine and a song.

Classical Movements was established in 1992, originally operating as Blue Heart Tours and providing exclusive tours to Russia and Ukraine. Rapidly, more countries were added, attracting more and more extraordinary clients in the music world.

Fast-forward 34 years, and our journey spans 147 countries, connects more than 100,000 participants, and continues to bring the world together through music.

34 Years of

Tours | Collaborations | Commissions | Donations | Festivals

For 34 years, Classical Movements has connected more than 100,000 participants with extraordinary musical experiences through orchestra, band, and choir tours spanning 147 countries.

Whether it’s a small chamber ensemble or an international festival, every tour creates opportunities to perform, explore, and connect. And every journey brings us closer to our mission: moving the music and changing the world.

We’re also proud to celebrate the 11th season of Prague Summer Nights, bringing emerging artists together with distinguished faculty and guest artists for an immersive experience in opera, orchestral performance, and musical growth.

We’re equally proud to champion the future of music through 116 commissions by 111 composers, expanding the repertoire and bringing fresh perspectives to the concert stage.

Cheers to the tours, exchanges, festivals, educational initiatives, donation programs, our generous supporters, and unforgettable performances still ahead.

The music, and the journey, continues!
