Reminder: Windows 10 End Of Life
Windows 10, one of Microsoft's most popular operating systems, is approaching its end of life on October 14, 2025. After this date, Microsoft will no longer provide technical assistance or software updates for Windows 10, including security updates. This means that while computers running Windows 10 will continue to function, they will become increasingly vulnerable to viruses and malware without ongoing support.
Users are encouraged to upgrade to a more current Windows release, such as Windows 11, to ensure their devices remain secure and supported.
Luckily, it’s been several years where devices have come with Windows 11 as the default OS on the device (even if they were delivered in Windows 10 as what they referred to as a “Windows 11 Downgraded” unit). For those whose devices do not meet the technical requirements for Windows 11, it is recommended to replace (or at least begin to plan to replace) these older devices with new ones that support Windows 11 to take advantage of the latest features and improvements.
As the end of support for Windows 10 approaches, users will see more prompts encouraging them to upgrade to Windows 11. Microsoft has already experimented with full-screen upgrade prompts and will likely increase these notifications as the deadline nears. While some Windows 10 PCs can technically upgrade to Windows 11 using unofficial methods, Microsoft warns that these PCs may not work properly in the future. Therefore, it is advisable to confirm whether or not your devices meet the required specifications.
Should you have any questions on whether your devices can handle the upgrade or about getting new computers on order/in place, please feel free to reach out to our offices and we will see how best we can help.
