Dear Friends,

Our 2021 is off to a great start! On the giving end, we gave out our first five college scholarships for Native American students.

And on the receiving end, we have just received over $500,000 worth of books from several leading publishers. We can't wait to tell you next month about all the schools and public libraries the books will be going to.

It may be cold out, but even in the dead of winter, we are planting the seeds that will blossom this spring!

As always, your donation of any size is greatly appreciated.

Best,

David Mazor

Reader to Reader Awards Scholarships
Native American College Students Get Help With College Costs

Reader to Reader's new Blueprint for Success SW College Scholarship Fund awarded five scholarships in January, boosting the recipients’ financial resources for their spring semesters.

The scholarship fund awards scholarships to Native American students in New Mexico in their first year of college, or first year of graduate school. The scholarship helps students with the cost of tuition, and also much-needed resources, including textbooks and computers.

The scholarship is a key component in our new Reader to Reader program that provides one-to-one support that includes weekly communications by email and phone to give much-needed advising, and a wide range of resource donations.
A Library Grows in the Philippines
Retired Librarian Builds a Community Library

We continue to work hard at stocking the shelves at a new community library in the Philippines that was founded by a retired librarian from New Jersey.

"The books are wonderful! Perfect for the children in the Philippines,” says library founder Peter Mazzei. “You are the primary sources of the library's books. Thank you Reader to Reader!”

We are grateful to all the individual book donors and book drives that have contributed to this effort.

A Message For Our Valued Book Donors
Drop-Off Donations on Hold

Sadly, for now, we are unable to take in book donations at our office at Amherst College, as the campus is closed to outside visitors. We hope to be able to restart accepting drop-off donations in the fall of 2021. We thank you for your patience. We miss seeing you!
