We will discuss the program requirements and the process to become an approved Industry Partner. There are two enrollment period windows each year with the DoW so don't let this unique opportunity pass you by. This is a great way to catch the best talent entering the civilian labor force each year.

Our Mission in Motion: Local Area Statistics & Success Stories

Local Area Snapshot - 754 referrals made this quarter, 95.2% customer satisfaction, 15,183 total services provided, 38 outreach events held across Des Moines, Scott, Wapello, Clinton, Marshall, Henry, Lucas, and Lee counties.

Every fresh start looks different.

After 17 years away from the workforce, Jeremy came to IowaWORKS unsure how his experience while incarcerated would translate to employment. With career guidance, job search support, and connections to SNAP Employment & Training, he gained confidence, overcame barriers, and landed a job.

Jeremy described IowaWORKS as a “lifesaver” and shared that earning his first paycheck gave him pride and a renewed sense of purpose.

Workforce development is about more than finding a job—it’s about having the right support to succeed.

After returning to his community, Trevor connected with IowaWORKS for job search support, employer connections, and help overcoming the practical barriers to starting work.

Today, Trevor is working as a painter and building his next chapter.

After months of searching for the right opportunity, one local job seeker connected with IowaWORKS for support. Career Planner Adam helped connect him with an opportunity in Ottumwa and was there to help with onboarding paperwork and unemployment questions along the way.

In July, he started his new job as a Golf Course Maintenance Worker, earning $17/hour! Most importantly, he was excited to be working again and moving forward.
