2025 Lenten Campaign

DAY 1

Yet even now, says the Lord, return to Me with your whole heart, with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Rend your hearts, not your garments, and return to the Lord, your God, For He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love, and relenting in punishment. Perhaps He will again relent and leave behind a blessing, grain offering and libation for the Lord, your God. Blow the trumpet in Zion; sanctify a fast; call a solemn assembly; gather the people. Sanctify the congregation; assemble the elders; gather the children, even nursing infants. Let the bridegroom leave his room and the bride her bridal tent. Between the porch and the altar let the priests weep, let the ministers of the Lord weep and say: “Spare your people, Lord! Do not let your heritage become a disgrace, a byword among the nations! Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’” Joel 2:12-16

The largest 40 Days for Life Lenten Campaign begins today in 660 cities worldwide! Please commit to pray and fast and sign up at one of our three vigil sites. The lives of preborn children in the womb are in grave danger! They need your help! Pray often in Cleveland or Painesville or Bedford Heights! Your presence and prayer at one of these abortion facilities could be the deciding factor whether the baby of a mother-in-crisis survives! Converted abortion workers have informed the 40 Days for Life national team that up to 75% of mothers scheduled to have an abortion DO NOT show up for the appointment when pro-lifers are praying on the sidewalks! Let us fill our sidewalks from 7am to 7pm each day of the campaign! May we pray with an expectant faith, fast with thanksgiving, and peacefully witness for an end to the scourge of abortion in our communities! Thank you!

The Cleveland Prays for Life Team has stacks of signed Statements of Peace from our supporters going back to when we started conducting 40 Days for Life Campaigns in 2009. We want to comply with the 40 DFL National Team's directive to update our supporters once again signing a Statement of Peace. 40 Days for Life has made this very easy by adding it to the website you sign into for vigil hours. When you sign in with your username and password you are directed to a page which says, Welcome, Your Name! Directly below that welcome, there is a line that states: Online Statement of Peace Status: Current; Not Signed; or Expired. If your status is Not Signed or Expired, please click on that and you will be redirected to a page with the Statement of Peace which you then electronically sign and become Current. Example below. The 40 Days for Life 2025 Lenten Kickoff Rally held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Wickliffe this past Sunday was a blessed event and a huge success! We began with 30 pro-lifers hitting the sidewalks on a 25 degree afternoon to witness to LIFE! They returned to the gym and gathered with another 100 supporters for pizza, beverages, and dessert. Mary Ann, Executive Director of Womankind, then inspired the attendees with her passion and challenged all pro-lifers to unite! Then Aisha, Patient Resource Director at Ivy Women's Center, gave a powerful personal testimony and spoke of the inner workings of Ivy which has led to 600 saved babies in just 4 years! Darleen and Pastor Walt also spoke encouraging words and led a group prayer to close the rally! Thank you to all attendees!
