Special Opportunities This Week:

Check out what's happening soon at Tab!

Parents' Night Out!

All Tab families are invited to bring their infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary students to Tab on Friday, October 16 for Parents Night Out. While parents hit the town (or maybe just take a nap!) we'll have crafts, games, a movie (with popcorn, of course), and make our own healthy snack with the elementary students, and we'll have a separate childcare room for the 4-and-under crowd.

Hike Together at Fort Harrison on Saturday

Meet everyone at the Delaware Lake parking lot at 10am this Saturday, October 17, in Fort Harrison State Park, 6000 North Post Road, Indianapolis, IN 46216.

Contact Bart Ost at bartonbost@gmail.com

Step into the crisp beauty of October and enjoy a morning of conversation, fresh air, and fellowship as the Spiritual Growth Team hosts a fall hike at Fort Harrison State Park. Whether you are an avid walker or simply looking for a relaxed way to connect with others from Tab, this outing offers a wonderful chance to be outdoors together and enjoy one of central Indiana’s most beautiful parks.

Fort Harrison’s wooded landscape carries both beauty and history. Shaped by glaciers more than 12,000 years ago, the park’s rolling uplands, ravines, forests, and Fall Creek pathways create a setting that invites both reflection and friendship.

After the hike, those who would like to continue the fellowship are invited to gather for lunch at a nearby Panera. Come enjoy a morning of movement, conversation, and the goodness of autumn together.

Announcements & Upcoming Events

Here are the latest opportunities to strengthen

your faith and connect with the community.

Earlham College Concert

Join the Earlham College choirs and percussion ensembles in performance at Tab on Friday, October 23, at 7:00pm.

The Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Rhythm Project, and Hand Drum Ensemble will each present pieces from an eclectic program of world music, vocal jazz, contemporary, and more - even including a bit of combined choral and percussive fun. This performance is free to attend. Come support these young musicians on one of their Midwest tour stops! All are welcome.

Women's Retreat

Please join the Women of Tab (and friends) for a special retreat from 8:30am- 3pm on Saturday, October 24th at the Peace Learning Center at Eagle Creek Park.

Prayer is the most critical part of our walk with the Lord and we will have a special time exploring how we can improve our prayer life while enjoying the beauty of the park. Sign up in the McKee Chapel hallway, or email womenoftab@tabpres.org.

Cost is $25 and will cover a light breakfast and lunch. Please sign up by October 18. The venue is limited to 70 people so sign up early!

C. S. Lewis — portrayed by Dan Rexroth

Dan Rexroth portrays C. S. Lewis with particular attention to Lewis’s lifelong engagement with doubt, suffering, and belief. More than a biographical sketch, this presentation explores the inner tensions that shaped Lewis’s faith and writing, offering a thoughtful portrait of a man who wrestled honestly with God, grief, and truth, and whose reflections still speak to those navigating questions, loss, and the demands of faith.

Fannie Crosby — portrayed by Sharon Poole

In this first-person portrayal, Sharon Poole invites us into the life and witness

of Fannie Crosby, the prolific hymn writer whose faith gave rise to some of

the church’s most cherished songs. Through story and reflection, Crosby’s

perseverance, devotion, and remarkable creative gifts come vividly to life,

revealing how her trust in God shaped a legacy of hymnody that continues to

strengthen the faith and praise of the church.

Blankets for the Blessing Table

It’s time for our annual blanket event at the Open Door Cafe’s Blessing Table! Help us keep our neighbors warm as the temperatures change. Join us in our tradition of providing new or gently used, laundered blankets. The best size is queen, please. You may drop them off in the mailroom in the bin under the staff mailboxes through November 1. We’ll offer the blankets to our friends the first week of November.

Youth Group Care Packages

Do you have a college student or young adult navigating post-high school life or entering the workforce? While we are especially eager to reconnect with former youth group members from the last decade, this blessing is open to any

young adults connected to our church family who could use a touch of home. If you’d like your son or daughter to receive one, please send their full name and mailing address to Amy Rexroth no later than November 1. Boxes will be shipped immediately after Thanksgiving.
