Buffalo, NY- The South Buffalo Community Association (SBCA) is excited to announce the launch of a brand new promotion for South Buffalo with a long-standing community event at the heart of it.
Since 2013, Buffalo Common Councilman Christopher Scanlon has been organizing the annual holiday event SHOP SOUTH BUFFALO to promote the businesses of the South District. Earlier this year, the Councilman asked the South Buffalo Community Association, under the leadership of Executive Director Michael Weidrich, to take over the management of SHOP SOUTH BUFFALO starting this year, along with the South Buffalo Farmers Market starting summer 2024.
Using SHOP SOUTH BUFFALO as an anchor event, SBCA is thrilled to unveil a new multi-week, multi-event extravaganza to showcase South Buffalo-
SOUTH BUFFALO WINTER FEST! Beginning Saturday November 25th and running through Saturday December 9th, the schedule of events is as follows:
Small Business Saturday- Saturday November 25th- Noon-6pm- A number of businesses will be offering family-friendly activities including Santa Claus, reindeer, crafts, and presents. The day kicks off at the Irish Center, followed by the Genesis Center at Shea’s Seneca, then off to Castiglia’s Funeral Home. A free trolley will be available for rides Noon-6pm. South Buffalo Restaurant Week- Saturday December 2nd through Saturday December 9th- For the first time ever, South Buffalo will be hosting its own Restaurant Week to showcase all the great eateries of the South District. Participating restaurants will offer specials for the week. LINK TO SCHEDULE HERE
Shop South Buffalo- Friday December 8th 4pm through Saturday December 9th- the annual event returns bigger than ever! Expanding on Councilman Scanlon’s successful event, the event is now 2 days long, beginning Friday night at 4 pm and running all day Saturday. The annual favorite Winter Window contest will be taking place with voting on Saturday. In addition to this shopping favorite, an Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl will take place Saturday starting at Noon. The closing party will begin at The Blackthorn Restaurant at 8 pm. A free trolley will be available Saturday from Noon-6pm. LINK TO SCHEDULE HERE
