This Sunday, we'll hear Jesus teach his followers to be "dressed for action" and always ready to respond when God calls them. But this sounds exhausting! Hasn't Jesus heard about the danger of burn out? Does he want his followers to be anxious and constantly vigilant, wondering if they are doing the right thing? If this is not what Jesus means, then what does he mean when he says, "Be dressed for service and keep your lamps lit?" Pastor Jeremy's sermon is called "24/7/365 Christianity."

On Sunday, Sandy is back at the piano, Rick will read scripture, and Jeff will play guitar and offer the children's message. We hope you can join us -- in-person or online -- for a meaningful time of worship!

Summer Potluck with our Neighbors!

Sunday, August 10th at 1 p.m.

You are invited to a summer potluck with our neighbors at the Walnut Place apartments. This year, they are hosting us--and they are very excited to do so! Come meet Maria, the apartment manager, Porfirio, her assistant, and some of the families whose children come to the After School Club. Bring food to share, if possible. (And if you can't manage to bring food, come anyway. There is always plenty to go around!) We'll meet at the church and walk over together. Questions? Contact Jeremy or Jeff.

Tigard UMC Yard Signs

Show the community what Tigard UMC values.

Signs will soon be available for TUMC members and friends to display in their yards. These signs reflect TUMC's Welcoming Statement and highlight the ministry that TUMC strives to embody in our community. Signs are $20 each (but if that is a barrier, pay what you can even if it is $1 -- no questions asked). Many thanks to our friends at Boise First UMC for the sign design!

• For Caley Barstow (TUMC Choir Director) and her family following the death of her father, Glen Clark.
• For Terry and Guru Biswanath and their whole family, navigating a very challenging experience.
• For the ordinary people of the Gaza strip who are facing starvation and relentless violence.
• For people being unjustly arrested, detained, and deported without due process, and for the lawyers working on their behalf.
• For people who are vulnerable -- immigrants and refugees, LGBTQ+ people, among others -- targeted by the policies of the current administration, and for those advocates who are doing what they can to resist unjust and harmful policies.

• Text "TUMC" (without the quote marks) to the number 833-459-8142 and you will receive a link to the church's giving platform. Make a one-time donation to the fund of your choice or set up a recurring donation.

How to Make a Change to a Recurring Pushpay Donation

If you have recurring gifts (donations) set up in Pushpay, but do not need to change anything, then no action is required. Your recurring gifts will continue as before.

However, if you want to add a recurring gift and/or make changes to existing gift(s), the link below will walk you through those steps. Also, anytime you are going to use a new or updated credit card you will need to update the payment information. Most of us make changes so seldom that we forget exactly how to do it.

You don’t need a User ID or Password, but you do need to know the mobile phone number associated with your Pushpay account, and to have that phone with you.
