Hello Windsor!
Have you noticed anything different recently about the Town’s website? We are currently under construction!
Our goal is to refresh the website with a new look and feel, make it more user-friendly, and comply with a few changing regulations.
The refresh will be completed in phases, which at times may cause some web pages to appear unfinished.
Please bear with us during the work in progress, we felt this approach was better than shutting down the website altogether for any period of time.
If you have suggestions or items that you would like us to consider adding to the Town website, please let us know by providing feedback at the following link for the Virtual Suggestion Box https://www.townofwindsor.com/FormCenter/Town-Managers-Office-3/Virtual-Suggestion-Box-39
We are moving into another hot week, please remember the Windsor Senior Recreation Center is the Town’s cooling “safe haven” with extended hours during extreme heat events. For more information, please call the Windsor Senior Recreation Center at 707-838-1250.

WHAT TO DO WITH USED BATTERIES
As a friendly reminder, batteries do not belong in your garbage or recycling cart.
|
|
Household batteries are considered hazardous waste and need to be handled properly to eliminate unsafe conditions for you, SCRR staff, and first responders.
For everyone’s safety, place used household batteries inside a “clear” plastic bag and place them on top of your blue recycling cart for pickup. SCRR will handle proper disposal.
For more information on locations that take used batteries visit https://zerowastesonoma.gov/materials/batteries-household?locale=en

MOMENTS TO REMEMBER - WINDSOR PD
Deputy Marks of the Windsor Police Department was awarded the Windsor Rotary Club's annual “Service Above Self” Award. “Deputy Marks goes above and beyond the call of duty to support the Windsor Police Department and his community. He works tirelessly on applying for grants along with coordinating our latest DUI checkpoint. Thank you, Deputy Marks, for your dedication!”
|
In addition, the Rotary Club of Windsor presented the Windsor Police Department with $10,000 to help support Every 15 Minutes Program that was held last month. Windsor School Resource Officer, Officer Tamayo, who accepted the check assisted in the coordination of the successful event with the former Chief of Police Michael Raasch.
We thank the Rotary Club of Windsor for the generous donation.
| | |
|
Lastly, thank you to the Town for letting the Windsor Police Department host a great Child Passenger Safety Technician course at the Community Center last week. Sixteen California Highway Patrol Officers and two School Resource Officers from other agencies throughout the state of California were able to pass the exam and become certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians! The final to the class is a car seat installation event for Windsor residents, which was held on the last day. Thank you again to the Town; what a great location to host this life-saving class and our community.
