The Tampa Catholic Chapter of HOSA - Future Health Professionals achieved a historic milestone with three students earning top honors and qualifying for the Florida HOSA State Competition in Orlando, April 3-6. Kyarra Ellis, Mia Loreto, and Sadella Nguyen are the first Tampa Catholic students to qualify for the state competition since the chapter’s founding in 2022 by Mr. da Silva.
Kyarra earned her spot in the Veterinary Science competition, while Mia and Sadella qualified in the Emergency Medical Technician event. In addition, Cindy Sanchez Gomez earned an alternative position in her event.
This year, HOSA has grown to its largest membership in history, with 34 students proudly representing Tampa Catholic. We wish Kyarra, Mia, and Sadella the best of luck as they prepare for the state competition!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support our TC Trivia Night! From food and fun to friendly competition, the night was a resounding success—all in support of our 12 students heading to Peru this summer to live out our mission with the Christian Brothers.
Special gratitude to Mrs. Shannon Nordon '82 and Mr. Ryan Mulligan for organizing and hosting and to Brother Burns for being our fantastic emcee! Our students played a big role in making the night a success, and we are so grateful for this incredible community’s generosity and spirit.

Teamwork is our school’s overarching theme for the month of February. Did you know that 85% of our student population participates with an athletic team? Physical activity is proven to support mental health and physical health. How good! Do you realize the spiritual benefits of being part of a team? In its very nature a team opposes the self-centered mindset that culture often attempts to profess as honorable. Children come to realize as a member of a team that there exists a goal and good beyond their individual accomplishments or ego. They are a significant part of the whole, recognizing their need to cooperate, be sacrificial, and remain supportive of teammates. Can you hear the echo of Scripture? Take a moment to read 1 Corinthians 12: 12-26, allowing the logic of God’s word to strengthen our understanding of teamwork. | |
