Tell Governor Lamont to Sign HB 5002

Connecticut is in a housing crisis. High housing costs and a lack of affordable options are pushing families to the edge—and for many, over it. We finally have a meaningful legislative step toward addressing this crisis: HB 5002, a comprehensive housing bill that was passed by the Legislature. It’s now on Governor Lamont’s desk, and he is considering a veto.

This bill can help move Connecticut forward. It expands access to housing, strengthens tenant protections, supports rental assistance, and creates a path to reduce homelessness in our state.

Housing solves homelessness. HB 5002 is part of the solution.

This is the first major housing bill Connecticut has passed in years. Vetoing it would set us back at a time when families are depending on us to move forward.
