Hi Foothill Friends,
Session met on Monday 10/26 at the Wong house over leftover tacos and ice cream. We reflected on core value 5: "Go two by two" and expressed our admiration for the way the Mormon missionaries do their work (though disagreed with some of their other practices and theology).
We discussed some facility concerns including the plumbing repairs and the parking lot resurfacing and recognized the need for a future looking facility task force who can anticipate buildings and grounds needs and plan ahead for their funding.
We expressed our excitement for the launch of our Spanish language service and encouraged flexibility, grace, and hospitality.
We were grateful for a meeting that addressed many business concerns of the church, but also was filled with laughter, prayerfulness, and fellowship.
Blessings,
Andy

Carol Goedde and Pastor Andy dropped off your generous donations of toys and took a tour of the City Team center on Old Bayshore Highway and were both very impressed by the work they do.
City Team have two mostly independent programs: their community assistance program and their addiction recovery program. The community assistance program has over 50 sites, mostly church parking lots, where they distribute more than 1500 bags of groceries a week as well as clothes, toys, backpacks, and other seasonal items.
The facility houses 30 men who are employed but unable to afford stable housing and 65 men who are in the 12 month addiction recovery program. The facility offers classes, recovery workshops, job skills, resume and experience building. The program focuses on restoring dignity and wholeness of body, mind, and spirit through Jesus' love and power.
We look forward to continuing to partner with CIty Team and supporting them in God's mission in the community.
