October 2026

Hi, we are Kennebunkport Conservation Trust

You may have noticed that a lot of our social media posts have been starting with a wave lately. Since the beginning of the year we have gained over 1,000 new followers so we have been taking the time to get back to the basics. Who, what, where, when, why, and how of KCT. It has been a lot of fun reflecting, looking back, and pondering all of these questions. We hope you have been enjoying the series as much as we have.

Fall Trail Reminders

Despite the cool mornings, ticks are still abundant this time of year. Please be sure to practice tick safety while you are out and about.

Speaking of safety, firearms season starts for Mainers on October 31 and everyone on November 2. Be sure to wear blaze orange or other high visibility colors while on the trails. Don't forget to dress up your pets, too!

Captured our Attention: Last month volunteers captured our attention because they came out to help us plant over 2,400 trees and shrubs. Thank you to everyone that came out: young and seasoned, college classes and honeymooners, regular volunteers and firs timers. We could not have done it without your help!

Volunteer Corner

Prelude volunteers are needed once again!

This year we will be fundraising and volunteering at Prelude in two ways: a photo booth and parking.

Timber to Tides Conservation Alliance will be taking shifts at the Holiday Photo Booth hosted by the Lagasse Group to raise money for ACT, KLT and KCT. Shifts will be two hours long on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th from 9a-5:30p.

We will also need volunteers to help with shifts at the parking lot behind Alisson's Friday, December 11th from 12p-8p.

More information will be available soon.
