I know that sometimes we can feel helpless when it comes to the plight of our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world. Regardless of our position on foreign policy and who we might be tempted to blame in the aftermath of the events happening in Afghanistan, the church should empathize with (and have compassion towards) our brothers and sisters in Christ and be praying fervently for them. Psalm 3:3 is more relevant to them in these moments of their lives than it has ever been in mine. "But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head. I cried to the Lord with my voice an dHe heard my from His holy hill." Let's pray together that God will watch over that part of the body of Christ and that He will be glorified in His church there.
I hope that as you begin to get back into the routine and rhythm of the school year, that you would consider increasing your involvement in the life of the church here at Parkview. I hope that you will see the value in studying the Bible not just in corporate worship, but in small groups as well. Our Life Groups as we call them meet every Sunday. We are asking that you commit to an extra hour on Sunday mornings. We believe that extra hour of investment is the key to encouraging daily obedience and accountability to the gospel as well as further service and leadership opportunities in the church. Please let us know how we might help you get connected in a Life Group.
I understand that many people are choosing to shelter in place because of the rise of Covid cases in our area. We respect that decision and hope that you will join with us online. As always, both services will be streamed on Facebook Live and YouTube. If you are comfortable in crowds, join us on campus at 9:30 or 11:00.
If you are new to Parkview and are looking to take the next steps in your faith journey or in your connection to Parkview, plan on joining us at about 12:15 in the Fellowship Hall for our NEXT class. We will serve a light lunch and take a few minute sot share our vision for how you can be involved in embracing and/or advancing the gospel through your involvement in our church.
