SPECIAL UPDATE: AUGUST 22, 2023
NEW: FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL INFORMATION/UPDATE REGARDING HEAT
Xavier Catholic School Families,

We are aware of recent changes to schedules from other area metro schools due to the heatwave and have decided as a Xavier Catholic Schools community to maintain our original plan for this week.

Please know that we do not take this decision lightly and have plans in place to ensure the safety of all students and staff. Classroom spaces are equipped with air conditioning to ensure the educational environment is adequate and provides for meaningful learning experiences. Students will not be participating in outdoor activities, including but not limited to recess and PE. Pick up procedures will run as efficiently as possible to ensure time outdoors is minimized; we appreciate your help with this.

Please make sure that students dress accordingly while meeting school dress code. Additionally, it is important that you send a water bottle with your student to stay hydrated.

As a reminder, the early dismissal plans already scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday August 23rd are as follows:
● All Saints: 12:05 PM
● St. Matthew: 12:05 PM
● St. Pius: 12:00 PM
● St. Joseph: 12:40 PM
● LaSalle Catholic: 1:00 PM
● Regis: 1:20 PM
● Xavier: 1:45 PM

Regular dismissal times will be followed on Thursday August 24th. All activities will be communicated separately from each individual school.

Should a change need to be made to this plan, we will be sure to communicate promptly.

REMINDER: Updates to Xavier HS Activities Due to Heat
Due to the extreme heat this week Xavier High School activities that practice outdoors may have alternative times and/or locations. Please check with your coaches and moderators for the most up to date practice schedules for this week. Stay cool, Saints!
First Day of School Reminders...

Bell Schedule: Students should report to their "House" classroom by 7:50 a.m.  
  • Wednesday, 8/23 will be an "A" day.
  • We will celebrate Mass at 8:10 a.m. (Parents are welcome)

  • As a reminder, the first day of school will be a regular Wednesday early dismissal at 1:45pm
Dress: Regular Dress Code Day 
          A few helpful reminders regarding dress code:
  • Shoes must have closed backs and toes as well as true soles
  • Shorts are not to be worn as part of dress code.
  • Hair: may not cover the face for both boys and girls, unnatural hair colors are not permitted

Schedule Changes: 
Changes on or after the first day of school require signatures from a parent, teacher, and an administrator. All schedule change requests must be requested by 3:30pm on Monday, August 28.
  • A course may be added or dropped within the first four school days of the semester. 
  • A course level may be changed within the first four school days of the semester. 
  • After four school days a course or level change must be initiated by the instructor with the consent of the parent/guardian and an administrator.
