Under Committee Reports, Ralph reported that the West Wall Repair/Paint is on the contractor’s calendar for May 19-21. The slippery floors in the bathroom are an ongoing concern. An acid wash is necessary to prep the floors. A quote will be provided for the May Board meeting. Re: hot water in the bathrooms, the project must be re-bid. Dale described a Home Modification request, which was accepted in concept; he has one question for the homeowner.
For Old Business, Karen & Ralph met with Units 2, 4, & 5 again on April 17. Work on the Coolidge Circle maintenance is “on hold” while much of the group is trying to convince Unit 4 to continue involvement and contributions. We will meet again on May 6.
Under New Business, the proposal to add a usage fee for Ramada reservations was not passed.
Our Social Events calendar is on the up. About 8 residents joined in on Bingo on April 16, in Unit 4. 30 residents came to Coffee on April 18; the library speaker was excellent. Thanks to Andy Stevenson who organized movie night on April 23. 12 of us enjoyed the movie, ‘633 Squadron.’
Weather is expected to be relatively cool for our Cinco de Mayo party. Preparations are underway; you have until May 2 to RSVP. See this Blast for details.
During the Open Forum, 76th Place residents are concerned re: speeding vehicles. It was noted that VM1 recently installed speed humps. Larry Mithelman will follow-up.
Since the meeting, the Thornwood gate has continued to jam. Ralph reports that he had a locksmith repair it and a handle will be put in place to enable easy opening.
