Our Mission: Helping Other People Evolve by guiding people to heal from their past, thrive in the present and pursue a purposeful future - turning resilience into excellence and possibility into impact.

Are You Truly Present?

Every day is full of distractions — phones buzzing, to-do lists stretching on forever, and tasks that beg for our attention.

My dog, Bear, taught me an antidote to that noise: be present. After long workdays at two very different jobs that drain me physically and mentally — it never failed that Bear would greet me like I’d returned home from an impossible journey. He didn’t care about the hours I’d worked or the stresses I carried. He was fully present, excited, leaning into the moment and radiating pure welcome. His paw on my lap, his full attention when I sat at my desk, those actions shouted a simple message: be here now.

Presence matters for relationships and work. As a chiropractor, being present means treating every patient as if it’s their only visit today. As an employer, it means listening to employees and being engaged in conversations without distraction. With family, it means pausing the phone and tuning into the people in front of you. Presence is not passive; it’s an active choice to give your time and attention. It requires courage to set aside regret about the past and fears about the future. It requires discipline to silence our devices and fearlessly be with what’s right in front of us.

Bear’s greetings remind us to celebrate the ordinary ritual of arrival and to treat it as sacred. When someone sits across from you, give them your full face, your full ear, your full heart. When you find yourself distracted, look for the paw on your lap — literal or metaphorical — and return to the present. Life’s true moments happen in the here and now. Be present for them.

I've had the privilege of being part of Jon Gordon's mentorship program, The Circle, for the past two years, and today I'm grateful to also consider him a friend. Throughout that time, he has challenged me with honesty while offering encouragement, genuine care, and wise counsel. He isn't afraid to speak the truth, even when it's difficult.

I've read most of Jon's 32 books and have admired his work from afar for nearly 20 years. Sometimes when you finally get to know someone you've looked up to, the reality doesn't match your expectations. That has never been the case with Jon. He is authentic, generous, and deeply invested in the people around him.

When my sister, Colleen, passed away last year, Jon was one of the very first people to call and offer his condolences. That simple act of kindness is something I'll never forget. It speaks volumes about the kind of person he is and the character he brings to every relationship.

In his incredible book, The Power of Positive Habits, Gordon draws on his own remarkable transformation and work with the top leaders, coaches and athletes in the world, and shows you how to implement simple, concrete habits that exponentially elevate the way you think, feel, perform, live, lead and impact others. Discover life-changing principles in The Power of Positive Habits.
