From foster pops Robert
Meet the latest foster girl to grace Chez Maison Ménard BBnB, Pretty Parker Payday. As with many other foster families, we have hosted dozens of transients and visitors, most the dreamy, but a few the fretful types.
Miss Parker Payday's confidence swells daily. At first, she distrusted everything and everyone. Within a week’s time, she and I participated in an Olympic-scale synchronized snoring event. Then, just two weeks later, she slept beside my bed in the doggy dormitory.
She epitomizes the reasons that I and we all foster. T’ain’t no one best thing about fostering because all are best. I thrill to the opportunities to feed her nutritious food, stroke and love on her, teach her to play, and show her the good life to come in her future.
I love teaching and rehabilitating our new arrivals, some of whom confronted the brink. As their spirit grasps the reality of how they were intended to live, their temperament welcomes positive change They shed fear in favor of affection, their trust becomes the routine, and they embrace family membership. They warm to the routines of expected behavior. My favorite is the crowd attracted to the kitchen island where their meals and Bulldog Happy Hours reach culinary heights.
Their successes, some quick near natural, others longer and more tortuous, buoys us our spirit. Bulldogs embody divine gifts, and we owe them many obligations. Rescue is all they have, and we honor that duty to them.
The few times that our home has been “Bulldog-less," the loneliness crushed me. My job is to take care of them. The temporary loss of discharging my duties leaves me lost.
They bring joy and fulfillment into my life. Our recently departed manor queen, Miss Gabby, moved in as our first foster dog. Her spirit tells me to show more Bulldogs as happy a life as she enjoyed.
Don’t stop believing. You can read Parker Payday's bio page here.
