As a faithful fan of Penguin Rep Theatre, you have our heart on this unique Valentine's Day. We hope that we shall gather again and share interesting stories and characters, sooner than later at the theatre.

Joseph Gallo is an American theatre treasure -- playwright and storyteller extraordinaire. 25 years ago, he brought his moving "My Italy Story" to our stage, which then moved to Off Broadway in 1997.

We are thrilled to bring you AJ's BOOK, a loving valentine written and performed by Mr. Gallo, celebrating serendipity, passion and ... Phil Rizzuto! Joseph's short digital monologue beautifully renders a tale dealing with life's touchstones and the universal need to connect during these tenuous times.

As a solo writer/performer, Joseph Gallo appeared in the original production of My Italy Story at Penguin Rep, which later had its debut Off-Broadway at the 47th Street Theatre in New York (“…a compelling page turner.” – New York Times).  Other shows as writer/performer include Long Gone Daddy (“…strong, moving, assured…an unsparing, honest, funny story…beautifully captured.” – Broadway World), Whizzy, The Jealousy Piece, and the National Tour of the Complete History of the Seabees (Abridged). A frequent participant at The Moth in New York City, he is a two-time StorySLAM champion.
