Call for Participation to Renew

IEEE Standards: 299, 299.1, and 1560

The renewal efforts for IEEE 1560 (Measuring Power Line Filters, 100 Hz - 10 GHz), IEEE 299 (Shielding Effectiveness of Enclosures), and IEEE 299.1 (Shielding Effectiveness of Small Enclosures, 0.1 - 2 m) have been approved and are underway. Standards 299 and 299.1 will be worked on concurrently, with a kickoff meeting (both in person with remote attendees welcome) at the 2025 IEEE EMC + SIPI Symposium in Raleigh, NC. The working group for Standard 1560 is active and welcomes new members; join us for a hybrid meeting as part of the Raleigh Symposium.

The best way to confirm your interest and get information about the working groups, including meeting notices, is through the IEEE Standards Association myProject site (https://development.standards.ieee.org/) If you are already an IEEE member you can sign in with your IEEE account. If you are NOT an IEEE member, you are still welcome to join our working groups! You can create a free account on myProject.

  • Once you have a myProject account, use the "Menu" in the top right of the page and select "Manage Profile & Interests".
  • Switch to the "Interests" tab.
  • Click the "Add Groups" button.
  • Enter the Standard number in the search window and hit enter.
  • Entering "299" will allow you to register interest in "Revision of IEEE 299" and/or "Revision of 299.1".
  • Entering "1560" will bring up the result "IEEE Standard for Methods of Measurement of Radio Frequency Power Line Interference Filter in the Range of 100 Hz to 10 GHz".

Clicking on the circle under "Groups I Am Interested In" for any of these will bring up a window allowing you to choose whether to register as a Participant or just Follow the group. If you are interested in joining the working groups, please choose Participate, then click on "Declare Affiliations". This just requires you to enter your employer and any other academic, industrial, or governmental organizations you may be associated with.

Alternately, you can use one or more of the following links, create an account if needed, choose "Participate" and enter an affiliation.

IEEE P1560
IEEE P299
IEEE P299.1

We hope that you'll be able to join the working groups that are most relevant to your working life, and thanks very much to all the volunteers who help the IEEE EMC Society create definitive standards used by practitioners and academics worldwide!
