AP Exam Registration
AP Exam Registration is here! Earlier in October, students in AP classes are receiving hard copies of the AP Exam Registration information and a Registration Envelope. Attached are example copies of this information below (the registration document is two pages). Please read all the information carefully and help your students to keep track of these materials (we only receive so many envelopes).
Registration began on October 14th and will end at lunch time on October 25th this week.  Students will NOT be allowed to register outside of this timeline so please plan accordingly. Exams are $96 each. Families can pay online at LWSD.org under Online Payments. If your family pays online, please make sure that your student takes a copy of the receipt and puts it in a filled out AP Registration Envelope to give to Ms. Austin in the Student Services Office. If your family pays by check, please make sure all exam fees are added together on ONE CHECK. Please do not fill out separate checks for each test. Students should put the full name of the AP class on the Registration Envelope when filling it out.
If your high school student is not in an AP class, but would still like to register for an exam, they can pick-up copies of the materials from Ms. Austin in the Student Services Office.

Big Thank you from the International Partnership Committee
The KUSS students and their teacher have arrived safely back in Japan last Sunday. Luckily they were not affected by the typhoon. They had an awesome time touring Seattle, going hiking at Mt. Rainier and visiting most of NW companies like Boeing, MSFT, Google and Amazon and last but not least were able to get to know our students during classes.
The International Partnership Committee wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to:
  • to all the host parents opening their houses
  • to all the volunteer parents driving short and very long distances
  • to all the volunteers driving the teacher to ICS and back to her hotel and making sure she had dinner
  • to all the volunteer parents organizing awesome tours at their workplaces
  • to the students of the international club doing such an awesome job making the KUSS students feel welcomed at ICS
  • to the International Partnership Committee helping to organize
  • to the PTSA supporting all of this
We would not have been able to make this happen without your effort, involvement and support. THANK YOU!

Retraction
At the PTSA Parent's Meeting last Tuesday, October 8, we mentioned that there will be a guest lecture on Teens and Screens at next month's parent meeting, but that was incorrect information. More accurate details of our next guest lecture will be forthcoming, but it will likely be early next year, after the holidays. If you have any questions, please email presidents@icsptsa.org.
Advocacy Committee: Chairperson(s) Needed
One or two parents are needed to lead the PTSA Advocacy Committee. Members of this committee serve as community advocates for ICS and its students and bring community information back to our school. More specifically, ICS advocates attend community meetings where there is information that might impact ICS and bring that information back to the ICS community.  Sharing learned information might involve sending a summary to the ICS PTSA Board and/or posting article(s) in the ICS PTSA weekly newsletter. Please contact ICS PTSA VP Of Information Support, Tom Resing, if you are interested in this position or have any questions.
