Traffic Circle Project Update
The Collins/Tripp Roundabout landscaping and hardscape project remains underway; however, several delays and construction-related issues have affected the schedule. The most significant delays were due to electrical issues that were in conflict with the proposed hardscaping.
The roundabout is part of the Collins Road Phase 1B Landscape and Hardscape Improvement Project. While the original Collins Road Phase 1 project completed the roadway and roundabout pavement between U.S. Highway 80 and Tripp Road, Phase 1B includes landscaping, hardscape features, irrigation, pedestrian enhancements, and other aesthetic improvements along the corridor.
Significant progress has been made throughout the corridor, and the remaining improvements will help complete the vision for this gateway into the community. The contractor is currently completing the remaining landscape and hardscape improvements. The Town plans to have walls, landscaping, site cleanup, and related pedestrian improvements completed in the next few weeks, unless unexpected circumstances cause additional delays. The water feature located within the center of the roundabout is expected to be completed later this summer.
The Town appreciates residents' patience as work continues and looks forward to delivering the completed improvements for the community to enjoy.

E-Bikes vs. E-Motorcycles
The Sunnyvale Police Department wants to inform the public on the difference between e-bikes and e-motorcycles, and how traffic laws apply to each. E-motorcycles may only be operated on roadways and are not allowed on bike lanes or multi-use paths. E-bikes are allowed to operate where regular bicycles are permitted.
If you have questions, please contact the Sunnyvale Police Department at 972-203-0312.
