Welcome to Our New Organist!

Settle Memorial welcomes our new organist, Christopher (Chris) Tolliver to the staff! Chris' first Sunday is Feb. 25, and our congregation will have a time to meet him at the end of Sunday's traditional worship.

Chris is a retired music educator from Madisonville, Ky. He is a graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College, the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Western Kentucky University. He served as a band director in the Hopkins County School system for 30 years. Chris currently serves as accompanist for the Owensboro public school system choral programs, has taught private piano lessons, and for the past 33 years has served as organist, pianist, and director of music ministries at the Greenville (KY) United Methodist Church. Chris also has adjudicated and served as music director for several community theater productions.

Chris is the father of two daughters, Katherine Tolliver of Madisonville and Lauren (Brandon) Howard of Beaver Dam. He has one grandson, Myles, (and yes, he has pictures!).

Settle Preschool, PDO Registration Now Open for Church Members, Returning Families for the 2024-25 School Year

During the week, Settle’s Education Building is still full of the sounds of children learning, laughing, and growing in God’s love. These children are part of special ministries that serve children in our community: Settle Memorial Preschool and the Parent’s Day Out Program.

The preschool program was founded in the late 1940s, and Parents Day Out began shortly after. Through these programs, Settle strives to create a loving, caring Christian environment where all children can excel. Our goal is to offer a program rich in activities that promotes the development of academic, social, emotional, behavioral, physical, and artistic skills.

Registration for the 2024-25 school year is now open for church members and returning families. Registration information can be found on our church website. If you have any questions about preschool or PDO, you can reach Aimee Keith at aimee.settleumc@gmail.com (for PDO) and Janet Land at preschooldirector.settleumc@gmail.com (for preschool). The phone number for these programs is (270) 684-7005.
