From Your Administrative Team
Greetings Families,

We want to extend a huge Thank You to Jahmal and the Core 1 planning committee for executing a very special Speaker's Jam event this week! It was wonderful to hear so many poets, young and young at heart alike!

For the last week of Black History Month, we would like to share NPR's extensive list of stories, articles, tiny desk concerts, podcasts and more that highlight the Black experience, so that we as a community can continue to learn about and celebrate the Black community ALL year. Please keep in mind that NPR is typically meant for adult audiences, so please preview and scaffold as needed for your family.

We also want to acknowledge that this week has brought some concerning global news, and we want to share some potentially helpful resources as you and your family navigate and process what is happening in our world.

Regarding the attacks on Ukraine, we've compiled these resources for you:

Regarding potential laws targeting Trans children and their families in the US, please check out THIS guide from the Trevor Project.

We know that the world can sometimes feel heavy. We hope that this small corner of the world at Da Vinci Connect continues to be a space of comfort, peace, and joy for your family.

Take Good Care,
Kaitlin and Tami
