Kathi Parker will be hosting our annual summer "No Agenda" meeting at her home at 117 Hutchinson St., Big Rapids, on Wednesday, August 6, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Please bring a dish or beverage to share. No RSVP necessary. Kathi says she can seat 19, so you don't need to bring a chair unless you're afraid you might be number 20.

No business will be conducted at this meeting, just organic conversation on whatever topics happen to come up. Come join us for a relaxing, no stress summer evening! Hope for good weather so we can be outside!

Scholarship Fund Donations in Memory of Millie Gillies

Co-treasurer Marilyn Jablonski is still accepting contributions to the scholarship fund in memory of longtime member Millie Gillies. Millie coordinated the book sale for many years to raise funds for our branch scholarships, so we are grateful to her family for naming AAUW as the recipient of memorial gifts. As of July 23, we had received $1237 in memory of Millie. You can mail checks to Marilyn at 326 Winter Street, Big Rapids, MI. 49307.

2024 picnic kicking off the FY25 AAUW year

Our annual "Welcome Back" picnic after the summer hiatus will be Saturday, September 6, at Northend Riverside Park from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. After reconnecting over lunch, there will a business meeting to talk through plans for the coming year. Kathi Parker will be convening an ad hoc group to brainstorm program ideas in early August, and the Board will be meeting in that same time frame, so there should be lots to discuss.

At past picnics, we've had potlucks, boxed lunches from Three Girls Bakery, and entrée salads from BR Lunchbox. Please vote below to indicate your preference for this year's lunch. The rough estimate for the restaurant options is $15 per order including tax and tip, give or take a dollar or two. We would be sure to include a vegetarian option.
