CRUSH THE CURVE TESTING FOR BUSINESSES
|
|
The McCall Area Chamber sent out a business survey this week that had over 130 respondents in a matter of hours. The results indicated over 40 businesses wanted testing for their employees, which was enough for us to get them here. We are still working on details with Crush the Curve Idaho and the regional task force,
but
if you have not indicated via the survey or called us yet, please send an email to
lindsey@mccallchamber.org
and we will add you to the list for Crush the Curve to contact.
***There were several of you who did not enter your email addresses and anonymously responded with your number of employees. If you were one of those businesses, please email
Lindsey!
We are waiting on a confirmed date and also to pull together some resources to make this happen, but looking like the date will be either July 7th or 8th.
We are working with Crush the Curve and local organizations to keep the cost per kit as low as possible for our members, but they will be contacting businesses directly for their testing contracts with employers.

MOSS GRAD STUDENT COMPLETES URBAN GARDENING SURVEY
|
|
The deliverables for the project are included in this report. They include an assessment of city-owned parcels for their agricultural suitability, a review of city development code with recommendations on amendments to better support agriculture, recommendations on how best to pursue community gardens on city-owned land, and community visioning documents that focus on building a robust regional food system. The final visioning document takes the form of this report, specifically the Big Ideas section that highlights some of the most exciting potential collaborations to consider pursuing moving forward. Two presentations will also be made to the McCall City Council as a part of this project.

BOISE STATE TO LAUNCH COMMUNITY IMPACT PROGRAMS IN THE FALL - SPACE STILL AVAILABLE
|
|
In 2019, President Marlene Tromp challenged the Boise State campus community to identify and deliver three unique educational programs to three unique rural communities in the Boise State University service area.
The Community Impact Programs (CIP) are to be designed with community stakeholders, and the outcomes will be owned by the community. Each program will incorporate a deep connection between community, faculty and students through a combination of off-campus experiences and accessible online education.
The first three communities to participate in the program are McCall, Mountain Home and Payette. The McCall Area Chamber, along with other community stakeholders, will be meeting later this month to help spread the word about this amazing educational opportunities for our communities.
If you would like additional details about the Community Impact Programs (CIP), please complete their online form and someone will be in touch shortly.
