Dear Meher Center Friends and Family,
A loving Jai Baba from Myrtle Beach.
Next week the Young Adult Sahavas will be held at Meher Center beginning on Friday, November 8th through November 11th. The Center will be closed to overnight guests who are not participating in the event beginning on Wednesday, November 6th and will reopen on Thursday, November 14th. During this period day visiting will also be restricted. A notice will be sent to nearby folks early next week, outlining the times the Center will be open for day visiting.
Meher Center’s Board of Directors is happy to announce the election of Robin Shearer from Athens, Georgia to the board. Robin is a long-time Baba follower and a retired judge. Welcome Robin!
Lastly, as you know, next week is an important national election in the United States. Emotions are running high as the country is politically and socially divided in ways we have seldom seen in the past. As a condition for pilgrims visiting the Center, Meher Baba did not want any talk of politics. This rule was not applied to Meherabad or Avatar’s Abode, the other major centers that were directly founded and developed by Him.
For those who follow Meher Baba, it is our belief that this condition constitutes 'an order’ from the Master. With this in mind, when visiting Meher Center please refrain from any political comments or discussions. The nature of politics is divisive, while the focus of the Center is unity, the unity of Oneness inherent in God’s Love.
On Wednesday morning, 6 February 1952, At Meherazad, India, Meher Baba said:
God is everywhere and does everything.
God is within us and knows everything.
God is without us and sees everything.
God is beyond us and IS everything.*
In Meher Baba’s love and service,
Buz Connor
