Store Your Trash and Recycling Containers Out of Sight

Friendly reminder: Please store trash and recycling bins in the garage or on the side of the house in order to minimize visibility from the street.

No refuse or bulk materials may accumulate on any lot and no items may be disposed of on Columbia Association Open Space.

Information about recycling, trash collection, and bulk item collection can be obtained by calling Howard County at 410-313-6444 or here.

Prepare For Success Thank You!

Thank you for all the donated school supplies. With your help, Prepare For Success (PFS) set a record by serving over 4,500 students in 51 HCPSS schools, along with several local non-profits and community fairs. PFS had more than 175 volunteers sorting and packing school supplies.

We thank you again for participating in this 23-year community tradition. You all made a difference in the lives of the students.

Fall Leaves: What should we do?

Do you know the most environmentally-friendly way to deal with leaves

in your yard is to mow them?

If you don't mulch the leaves, please remember to dispose of your raked

leaves properly. Leaves and yard waste can be recycled on your regular

recycling pickup day. Here are some helpful tips and rules to keep in

mind:

  • Yard waste MUST be placed in paper bags or reusable
  • containers. No plastic bags.
  • Do not rake or blow leaves into the street. It is a violation of the
  • Howard County code.
  • Do not dump your leaves and yard debris onto CA Open Space.
  • Please place bags of yard waste at the curb after 6 pm the
  • evening before your pickup day.

Thank you for keeping Hickory Ridge beautiful!

Grab some dinner at Texas Roadhouse on October 23rd from 3-10pm and support Cub Scout Pack 720 (serving Swansfield & Running Brook students). Please show this flier when you place your order (dine in or to-go orders). Thank you!!

Letter of Compliance

If you are putting your house on the market, request a Letter of Compliance from the Village Office well in advance of a pending settlement date. This letter is not required, but it is a valuable tool for sellers because it verifies that your property is in compliance with the Hickory Ridge Covenants. Any covenant violations on your property become the responsibility of the new owner, so home buyers often request a Letter of Compliance from the Seller. Request forms are available in the Covenants section of our website and at the Village Office. Questions? Email applications@hickoryridgevillage.org.
