A Message from the Headmaster
Dear Archway Trivium families,
In a faculty training this week I told our faculty about St. Augustine’s view of virtue as the proper order of affections. For him, virtue meant loving things that ought to be loved such as peace, family, and wisdom. A virtuous person would also hate things that ought to be hated such as senseless violence, injustice, and unkindness. This weekend, I would challenge you to think about what your child’s soul consumes through attention or association. We sometimes use terms like “adult humor” or “adult language” as if an adult soul were somehow immune from the effect of ill-formation through disorder. It is true that our children are more sensitive, but it is always worth considering how that joke, movie, song, or game will affect the soul before taking it in. Have a great weekend all!
Heartily devoted,
Clay Scott, Ed.D.

School Messenger Communication
Great Hearts and Archway Trivium continue to utilize the system School Messenger for emails, robo-calls, and text messaging to inform families of campus related academy emergencies and other communications. SchoolMessenger has a new automatic opt-in for text feature. During the registration/re-enrollment process families confirmed their wish to participate in text communications. Great Hearts will now automatically opt in contact information given during the registration/re-enrollment process with the options you selected. You will notice at the beginning of July you will be opted in for text messaging. If you would like to opt out of text messages simply reply STOP to the text from 67585. You can also enter the code 67585 with the message STOP to block any text messaging. Please note, if opting out, you will not receive texts regarding emergencies on campus.
Email Communications
If you know of parents who are not receiving these communications, please ask them to check their junk/promotions email folders, and then email bmcdonald@archwaytrivium.org for assistance.
You can also find ALL school-wide communications on our website on the Latest News page.
