The holiday weekend brings a slight slowdown in Houston’s creative calendar—making it the perfect time to catch up on exhibitions at local museums while still enjoying this week’s mix of vinyl grooves, artist talks, and film screenings.

Kick things off Wednesday with Drop the Needle at Hotel Saint Augustine or get outside on a pop-up wellness walk at Hermann Park with Urban Paths.

If you haven't yet caught an Ice House Radio live deejay set at The Car Wash (above Echoes in Montrose), add it to your list. Every Tuesday–Friday, four different deejays spin live hourly sets.

On Saturday, don’t miss The Crooklyn Cookout at The DeLUXE Theater—a day of food, music, games and two special screenings of Spike Lee’s nostalgic classic.
