Solvency and Growth in a Consulting Practice – How to Navigate the Insurance Maze
How are you protecting your consulting practice or solo business from the unexpected? In this workshop, insurance expert John Dustin will guide us through the maze of various insurance coverages including:
- General Liability
- Errors & Omissions
- Property
- Cyber
- Life
- Disability
You’ll learn why certain types of insurance are required by your customers, and better understand which policies are relevant to your business. John will show us a process to ensure your contracts transfer risk, protecting you and your business. You’ll also hear examples of how consultants have protected themselves from loss with a mix of policies that’s customized to their business.
The meeting price is free for SPC and ACE members and first-time attendees. All others are $15. This workshop will be held in an online meeting format to encourage discussion.

About Our Speaker:
As president and founder of J.E.D. Insurance, John brings more than twenty-five years of insurance and financial service experience to his clients. He received his bachelor’s degree from Stonehill College and has master’s degrees from Johnson & Wales University and Anna Maria College.
John also earned his CPCU designation in 1993, along with his CLU in 2005, and ChFC in 2014. In 2019, he completed his Doctorate in Business Administration from California Southern University.
John’s diverse education and experience allows him to effectively manage his commercial clients’ insurance, financial, and risk management needs. He ensures a productive and positive experience for his clients through a customer-centric philosophy.
John is a father of four and an avid fitness and sports enthusiast.

Virtual Networking Meetups |
|
Our next two virtual meetups will be on Friday, October 9th and Friday, October 23rd. The October 9th meetup is open to all consultants and solo professionals and the October 23rd meetup is reserved for SPC and ACE members. Both meetups will begin at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time. You'll see a registration button below the description of the sessions.
We'll have a short general session for everyone and then break out into small virtual meeting rooms. We'll all switch rooms after a few minutes so we get chance to carry on conversations with people we haven't met. You'll get a chance to make new connections and learn how your colleagues are overcoming the challenges of remote work.
We're limiting the meetup to 25 people so please register to reserve your spot. We hope you can join us! Please register by clicking or tapping on the button below.
