2026 Per Capita $43.75

What is per Capita?

The official definition: “Per capita is an opportunity for all communicant members of the Presbyterian church through the governing bodies [mid councils] to participate equally, responsibly, and interdependently by sharing the cost of coordination and evaluation of mission; and of performing ecclesiastical, legislative, and judicial functions that identify a Reformed Church, while at the same time strengthening the sense of community among all Presbyterians” (GA Minutes, Part I, 1995).

In essence: Per capita is a set amount of money (apportionment) per member that congregations pay to the larger Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Said another way, it is a Presbyterian Covenant Community Fund — part of the glue that holds Presbyterians together. Because every Presbyterian shares in the benefit of the PC(USA)’s system of government, the expenses associated with coordinating and performing the functions of that system should be shared by everyone as well.

Each congregational member is encouraged to pay this amount for each person in their household. Please put on the memo line of your check that it is for Per Capita. This can also be paid online through the church’s website www.crescenthill.church

Presbyterian Woman Shot in Minnesota

Our Presbyterian Sister in Christ, Renee Good, was slain by ICE last week. We pray for her family, friends, and church as they face the days after this senseless killing.

Did You Know?

What Presbyterians Believe...

Reformed confessions have a provisional authority (and are therefore subject to revision and correction) because all confessions are the work of limited, fallible, sinful human beings and churches. In our time we have perhaps become more aware than most of those who wrote and adopted Reformed confessions in the past that even when confessions intend to serve only the revealed truth and will of God, they are also influenced by the sexual, racial, and economic biases and by the scientific and cultural limitations of a particular situation.

But from the very beginning and throughout its history Reformed Christians and their confessions have acknowledged with the Westminster Confession of 1646 that: “All synods or councils since the apostles’ times, whether general or particular, may err, and many have erred; therefore they are not to be made the rule of faith and practice, but to be used as a help in both” (XXIV–XXXII).
