Greetings!
Do April showers bring May Flowers or vice versa? In this topsy-turvy year, it took until May to get the rains to really bloom the April flowers. No matter what, May is a great month of growth and beauty and one that showcases some special days, people, and the Senior Variety Show.
May starts appropriately with May Day. But think of this word: Mayday or May Day? Mayday as a single word means distress and help and the past year has had its share of Maydays! May Day as 2 words is a day of celebration and sharing time and talents (and secret gifts) with many. Boy, these words epitomize our Senior Variety Show year. Yes, we hit some challenges and a few roadblocks but our response was to enhance our mission and opportunities to showcase senior talents and information through our weekly (now biweekly) newsletter and videos. They have kept us all connected and engaged! And the second detour (no show in 2021) has helped launch SVS “Musical Telegrams” service (see spotlight article below) which will further our reach of showcasing senior talents while also raising funds for senior projects and grants!
Mother’s Day and our mothers also bless the month of May. We are all eternally grateful for the impacts they make in our lives and world. And don’t forget Dads but they get their day in June.
Hopefully, our Senior Variety Show makes similar impacts as May Day and Mother’s Day providing entertainment, impact, and fun in your lives and community! Enjoy May, celebrate, and enjoy the newsletter and showcase video!
So if April showers bring May flowers, what do May flowers bring! Like May Day, put the words together for the answer: Mayflower!! The answer is “Pilgrims”.
