Christos Anesti!
This year, the beloved Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Toronto proudly celebrates its 65th Anniversary. This Sapphire Anniversary marks more than six decades of faith, community, and spiritual heritage in the city.
Since opening its doors in 1961, Panagia has served as a cherished spiritual home for generations of families. It has been the setting for baptisms, weddings, celebrations, and moments of comfort and prayer during life’s most difficult times. As we honour this important milestone, we give thanks to God, remember our founders, celebrate our accomplishments, and look ahead to the future of our Cathedral community.
We warmly invite you, your family, and friends to join us for our 65th Anniversary Gala on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at Parkview Manor in North York. This special evening of remembrance and celebration will also support the completion of the Cathedral’s grand dome iconography.
The crowning centerpiece will be the majestic Icon of Christ the Pantocrator, surrounded by the 12 Prophets and 4 Evangelists, creating a lasting witness to our Orthodox faith for generations to come.
Buy Tickets online, and be part of this historic moment as we complete this spiritual jewel of Panagia Cathedral and celebrate 65 years of faith, fellowship, and community.
Thank you for your continued support and participation in this joyful anniversary celebration.
Prayerfully Yours in the Risen Lord,
+ Protopresbyter Peter J. Avgeropoulos
