Celebrating a Year of Growth

As the school year came to a close, every Girl Inc. participant celebrated her accomplishments with a certificate recognizing her growth and completed our annual impact survey.

More than 86% of girls shared that Girls Inc. teaches them things they might not learn in school. This is a reminder that together we're helping girls build confidence, discover new possibilities and finish the year stronger than they started.

Building Stronger Schools
with Deloitte

For the fifth consecutive year, Deloitte partnered with Girls Inc. LA through their Day of Impact, demonstrating their continued investment in girls across Los Angeles. Seventeen Deloitte volunteers helped prepare a new classroom at 93rd Street Elementary School for the upcoming school year while also donating school supplies that will support programming across all 12 of our partner schools.

We're grateful to Deloitte for helping create welcoming spaces where girls can learn, grow, and thrive.

Want to support girls heading back to school? We'd love to partner with your company on a school supply drive. Contact Ana Zavala to learn more.

Creativity Meets Sustainability with rōk coffee and tea

Girls Inc. Summer Camp is officially underway in partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles and Santa Monica.

At the Challengers Boys & Girls Club, Tiffany Lee from rōk coffee and tea introduced girls to the creative possibilities of upcycled fashion. Using bottle caps, puzzle pieces, plastic tubing, playing cards and colorful beads, girls transformed everyday materials into one-of-a-kind jewelry while learning how creativity and sustainability can go hand in hand.

Thank you to rōk coffee and tea for encouraging girls to see everyday materials–and their own creativity–in a whole new way.
