Dedication of the New Rotary Pavilion

August 01, 2026

The community came together to dedicate the new Rotary Park Pavilion—a space rebuilt not only with wood and stone, but with the strength, compassion, and resilience of our community.

As we celebrated this new chapter, we also honored the memory of Cooper Christopher Drake, whose life was tragically lost during the June 2024 tornado.

A memorial plaque now stands at the pavilion, reminding all who visit to cherish those we love and never take a single day for granted.

This project was made possible through the partnership of the Rotary Clubs of Livonia, State Rep Laurie Pohutsky, George H. Pastor and Sons Construction, and many others who came together to restore a place that means so much to our community.

Club Meeting Featuring Kaylyn Crayne, Owner of the Wyandotte Rage Rooms

July 29, 2026

Our meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and an Invocation read by Claude Kendrick. Happy Bucks were conducted by Tammy Bonifeld.

We had 8 members present, one on Zoom, and 5 guests.

President Erin H. Dobbins reminded members that the club is working on the garden by the Church at Greenmead Historical Park every Tuesday from 9:00–11:00 AM. Next week we hope to mulch the garden. This would be a great project for other groups or clubs looking to help beautify Livonia. Show up and start working.

August 1st will be the rededication of the new Rotary Park pavilion, at 10:00 AM. The pavilion was rebuilt after the tornado tore through the park and the surrounding area. The pavilion now has new picnic tables, a fireplace, and restrooms.

August 13, Thursday, will be the joint AM and Noon Rotary Clubs mingle at the Craft Grill at Schoolcraft College from 5:00 - 6:30 PM. Get a drink or a meal.

Our speaker today was Kaylyn Crayne, Co‑President of the Wyandotte Rotary Club and owner of the Wyandotte Rage Rooms. A rage room is a place to relieve stress by breaking items. Each room has a box of items that you can break with a variety of sticks, golf clubs, and baseball bats. Clients can bring items from home that they would like to destroy if they wish—such as a picture of a person. Each room includes a box of breakables with the price of admission. This is a great way to relieve stress over breakups, job loss, or other life events that cause anger or frustration.

The rage room is so popular that the building has increased in size three times since opening. Therapists have brought clients to “let off steam.” Clients have come repeatedly. The cost is $45.00 for the first hour and $25.00 for the second. There are only two other rage rooms in the Metro area—Sandusky and Madison Heights.

The Wyandotte Rage Room is located in downtown Wyandotte. There is no age restriction. The Rage Room offers a place to reduce stress in a safe environment.
