Unique Relative Finder

Recently, a brand-new database of 15,000 individuals was released by the Wilford Woodruff Papers Foundation in partnership with FamilySearch.

This new feature, available at wilfordwoodruffpapers.org/relative-finder, enables users to see who they are related to in the Papers with links to their FamilySearch profiles, as well as the firsthand accounts of their relatives in Wilford Woodruff’s journals, discourses, and correspondence.

Wilford Woodruff Papers at BYU Education Week

This year at BYU Education Week, we showcased our online Relative Finder feature, and hundreds of people stopped by the booth and logged in to discover their connections to the thousands of individuals identified in the Wilford Woodruff Papers. The most connections found from the Papers to a FamilySearch family tree was 9,566! Try the Relative Finder today and see how many people you are related to in the Papers.

In the past three months, the Document Research Team located an additional 403 pages of Wilford Woodruff’s documents. These documents fall into various categories including correspondence, discourses, estate documents, meeting minutes, and genealogical records.
