The form attached at the bottom is only for those who wish to opt out. Letters from other solicitors seeking your electric business, or that do not include the Village logo, are NOT part of the Amberley Village Aggregation Program.

"STAY BRIGHT AT NIGHT" & AVPD Campaigns
Highlight Pedestrian Nighttime Safety
| |
Pre-K students at Cincinnati Hebrew Day School recently explored the importance of signs in the community, including how many signs are designed to help keep us safe. The students partnered with fourth grade girls to teach them the elements of effective sign design, and worked with them to promote a new safety campaign which utilizes reflective belts to increase pedestrian visibility at night. The students' ideas were brought to life through a partnership with a professional graphic designer, and resulted in the sign featured above. As part of the project, each of the students' families were given a reflective belt courtesy of the Orthodox Union, and a sign for display at home.
Meanwhile, Amberley Village Police Department was simultaneously developing its own Pedestrian Safety Campaign, also featuring reflective belts. In partnership with Golf Manor Police Department and SAFE Cincinnati, Amberley Village was able to purchase a large quantity of belts to ensure that everyone has access to their own free and effective pedestrian safety solution.
"We have distributed reflective belts in the past," says Chief Richard Wallace, "and they have proven very effective in increasing the visibility of pedestrians to motorists at night." This is particularly important in the Village where there are no sidewalks, and many residents wear dark clothing while walking, particularly on the Sabbath.
Residents interested in the free reflective safety belts are encouraged to stop by the Amberley Village Police Department (to the right, just inside the Municipal Building Entrance). The reflective belts are courtesy of the Amberley Village and Golf Manor Police Departments in conjunction with SAFE Cincinnati, and are available by request free of charge at the Public Safety window in the Municipal Building, or from any Police Officer on duty.
| | Summer Property Maintenance | | |
Amberley Village reminds residents of the importance of year-round property maintenance (see wheel graphic above), but summer maintenance is especially important as more people are outside, grass grows more quickly, and neighbors are more likely to entertain guests in their yards. Regular upkeep demonstrates respect for both your property and your neighbors and helps keep Amberley Village properties at peak value. It also saves taxpayer dollars by preventing the need for staff time and follow up costs required to address violations.
Take a moment to review property maintenance requirements for the Village to ensure your property is in compliance with the Property Maintenance Code (see link below). Not only will you create a more comfortable space to spend time in, you, your neighbors - and your wallet! - will reap the benefits!
| | Amberley Village Bike Safety Fair Recap | | | | |
Amberley Village held its 13th annual installment of the Bike Safety Fair, held at the Mayerson JCC on Sunday, June 22. More than 50 children attended the event and were fitted and provided with a free bike helmet, and were guided through the bike safety course. An additional 20 helmets were provided to families who attended without their children, and three brand new bicycles were raffled off.
The event was coordinated by Officer Andrea Alt with the support of Sergeant Mike Koenig, Officer Nick Mercer, the Village Maintenance Department, and Dispatchers Patty Earls and Sophia Sidley.
Councilmembers Keely Paul, Dara Wood and Rich Bardach also assisted at the event, along with Jane Ward, Christa Carter, Sgt. Koenig's granddaughter Leela, K9 Creed and partners from Safe Cincinnati.
A special thanks to the Mayerson JCC for the use of their facility, and all those who attended to make the 2025 Bike Safety Fair a great success!
