1.) Calendar Alerts
I am excited that we have a great schedule this year of Butterfly Pediatrics sessions, Early Learning Roundtables and Licensed Program Webinars. I also know that with busy schedules sometimes it is hard to remember when these great opportunities are happening. So, in addition to putting dates and zoom links in this weekly update I am also going to send the recurring meeting dates in calendar alerts to you so you can save to your calendar!
2.) Registration for October Professional Development: Weathering the weather with little learners
Our monthly Professional Development opportunity will be presented by Rachel Franz from Twig and Thread. She has joined us at our Professional Development Day the last two years. October’s Training will be held virtually on Tuesday, October 11th from 6pm – 8pm. Please see below for training title, description and link to register. There are unlimited spots for this training.
Weathering the weather with little learners:
In this workshop, educators will discover the joys of taking children outside in all weather.
Learn about how to layer children’s clothing, keep warm on the coldest days, and how to
meet learning standards in the meantime. Participants will come away with ideas for
prioritizing outdoor opportunities throughout the winter, even if it is cold, wet, and dark.
3.) Licensed ONLY: DCYF Workforce Retention Grant
Late last week I sent you an individual email about the DCYF Workforce Retention Grant. This grant was just released on Thursday last week so none of our programs have applied for it before. There were similar grants that King County released earlier this year, but this is a different pot of money. Please let me know if you have any questions about the grant application and please send me a quick email once you have completed it so I can track and make sure that everyone has taken advantage of the opportunity.
