The end of every school year prompts reflection in all of us, and our faculty and staff are no different. In late winter, a letter was given to all staff asking if they intended to return next school year. At that time, we did receive all positive responses. However, over the past few months, the following staff have decided that a change was in order in their lives for various reasons. While we will miss them very much, I can tell you that none of these decisions were easy for these individuals to make. However, when life provides us opportunities, they must be recognized and considered.

Mrs. Kempken – Locating to another school closer to her home so she can assist with caring for extended family

Ms. Alyssa Moving out of the area

Ms. Brennan – Family reasons but is considering volunteer work here in the future

Mr. Silas – Making a career change

We thank them for all of their hard work at St. Alphonsus School.

We are now in the process of searching for the best candidates to teach your children and become part of our amazing family at St. Alphonsus. These positions have been posted across multiple locations, including the Arch website and WECAN, the Wisconsin Education Career Access Network. If you happen to know of an individual who meets the requirements of these positions and would be a great addition to our school, please refer them to us!

Please pray that the Lord sends us the teachers He desires for our school.

As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

The future of St. Alphonsus School is bright and faith-filled!

Best regards,

Ms. Parey

Principal

Other Important Reminders This Week!

We have several other reminders for you this week!

LUNCHES:

  • Next week Wednesday, May 22 is our next pizza lunch. You can find details and an order form below, but these are due back THIS Wednesday, May 15.
  • In addition, Friday, May 24 will be a bag lunch day! Our Cougar Cafe staff will not be in the building, so please plan to pack your students a lunch that day.

Don't forget to join us for State of the School on Thursday evening! More details below but we hope to see many of you there!

Mrs. Schermetzler is still planning on sleeping on the roof, which was the all-school reward for making our Fun Run goal last fall. The plan is for her to sleep on the roof after State of the School on Thursday, May 23. The rain date will be Tuesday, May 28. Stay tuned for lots of fun extras on social media when this happens, including a live bedtime story!

We are in need of some cantors & acolytes for the 8th Grade Graduation mass on Saturday, June 1 at 12:00pm. If your student would be interested in singing or serving at this mass, please email Mrs. Schermetzler.

Lastly, just a calendar note. Although our school calendar mistakenly says June 5 is an 11:30am dismissal, our St. Alphonsus tradition is that last day of school dismissal is always at 10:00am. We will continue that tradition this year, so students will be dismissed on June 5 at 10:00am.

Have a great week!

Playground Shed Revamp - Thank You Girl Scouts!

Thank you to the 2nd & 3rd Grade Girl Scouts who worked Friday afternoon to organize the playground shed!

They cleared everything out and the girls worked on blowing up all the balls and taking out any old garbage. Balls that were very clearly past their prime were discarded and a couple of new balls and smaller cones were added. There is also a new first aid kit and a garbage can!

Thank you so much to the Girl Scouts for their hard work!

Home & School Happenings

Calling all Room Parents!

First, we’d like to say THANK YOU to all the current room parents for volunteering their time this year to assist teachers and school with various events and activities throughout the year! We appreciate your time!

As this year comes to an end, now is the time to consider becoming a room parent for the 2024-2025 school year!

Room parents provide valuable assistance to our teachers by being the liaison between the teacher and classroom parents.

If you are interested in being a room parent, please email Dawn Eisold and include your name, email, phone number and your child’s name and grade for 2024-2025.

Room parents will be contacted in late August. Please remember that all room parents need to be safeguarded.

Please let us know if you have any questions and thanks for volunteering!
