Phil. How did your last year’s New Year Resolutions work out?

I continued to offer best advice to customers through the year, and we have installed an increasing number of installations designed to improve efficiencies. Therefore, that resolution was kept.

Worryingly, the resolution regarding fire systems and installation of Peerless FireConnect® monitoring has not seen the same success.

In 2025 there have been recorded more than 6,500 workplace fires in the UK costing an average of £5.9 million each. Globally I can only guess. The year to April 2025 also saw 271 people die in fires in the UK.

I am still seeing fire pumps come in for repair that are seized solid and could not run if called to do so.

If you are responsible in any way for your warehouse, office, store or other place of work, will you please consider up-grading your fire protection systems in 2026, checking that they work properly.

One way is to install Peerless FireConnect® which can be retrofitted to any fire pumping system, new or old.
