Spring Quarterly Newsletter

Spring Greetings NRS Colleagues,

What an exciting time to be part of ACTE! As we celebrate ACTE’s 100th anniversary this year, I’m filled with gratitude for the work you do every day to advance career and technical education (CTE). This milestone is a chance to reflect, celebrate, and double down on our commitment to students and communities.

Start Planning Now: If you or your district/office want to join us at VISION this December, please begin submitting requests and securing approvals. Early planning makes attendance and the impact you’ll bring back so much easier.

We Need Your Leadership: The application window for many roles with ACTE is open now, including the role of vice president for the New and Related Services Division. I strongly encourage interested members to apply and consider running other ACTE positions. Stepping up is a powerful way to shape our future.

Spotlight — Career Academies: Huge thanks to Cheryl Carrier and FordNGL for their outstanding work supporting Career Academies. They offer a wealth of webinars and resources available to everyone, please take advantage of these excellent learning opportunities.

Get Involved with the Section: We have a couple of projects underway to revamp the NRS section web page and will soon have openings for new section leads. We also need additional volunteers for our nominating and awards committees. If you’re interested in any of these roles — or in running for office — please reach out to me at vp_nrs@iamcte.com.

Thank you for your energy, dedication, and service. Together we’ll make this centennial year one to remember!

With appreciation,

Rich Trinkwalder

VP, ACTE New and Related Services Division

See What’s Possible When Districts Collaborate

ACTE’s School Study Visit to the Northern Kane County Regional Vocational System highlights a regional CTE model where districts pool resources to deliver advanced programs and facilities they couldn’t sustain alone. Through a partnership with a community college, students also earn industry credentials and college credit while still in high school. Designed for CTE leaders seeking scalable, cost‑effective solutions, this tour offers practical, real‑world strategies for doing more with less.
