This month Orange County Community Housing Corporation celebrated Westward Home: A Gala to End the Cycle of Poverty. Hosted at The Ranch in Anaheim, guests joined OCCHC's annual western-themed event that celebrated 20 years of SteppingUP and over 600 graduates since 2006.

Twenty years of students who believed college was possible because someone believed it first. Twenty years of first-generation graduates who are now teachers, nurses, engineers, and parents raising their own kids to believe the same thing. Twenty years of breaking the cycle of poverty.

The western-themed gala, presented by Title Sponsor, U.S. Bank, provided a vibrant and engaging evening filled with LIVE music, line dancing, hat decorating, auction and so much more. Community members raised a glass to toast the accomplishments of our SteppingUP alumni and raised their paddles to support the launch of its Compadre Fund, ensuring that when a SteppingUP student faces an unexpected hardship, they receive the support needed to stay on a path to graduation and build a brighter future.

Today, we thank our generous sponsors and community members who helped us raise over $200,000 at Westward Home. Every family we have housed and every student who has walked across a graduation stage reflects what is possible when a community believes in their potential.

For two decades you have stood by our side. Thank you for empowering our students and encouraging brighter futures.
