The Chamber awards the Administrative Professional of the Year

We had eleven outstanding professionals who were highly praised by their superiors and co-workers. We appreciate them, and we appreciate each of you who nominated them.

Congratulations, Cara Paris, the Administrative Professional of the Year!

“Cara is an experienced self-motivated Administrative Assistant with a demonstrated history of ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels within the judicial circuit; to plan and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, diverse legal environment. She brings strong analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills combined with expertise in using technology and other legal tools as basis of quality effective and resolution-oriented outcomes. She has been a loyal and integral part of the DA’s office for decades. Cara personifies excellence. With multiple law enforcement agencies and the different protocols, personalities, and egos, her job can be quite challenging. Seemingly effortlessly, Cara gets what she needs from all she interacts with and keeps the cases on track, on time and complete in every way. Cara does all this with a smile and warmth that makes the office a wonderful environment for all.”

Leadership Development

The adult leadership class was on the road again throughout the county checking out industry. They began their day at Mount Vernon Mills in Trion. Classmate William Barley set up the tour, and his dad, Tom, jumped in when we were in the dye house. Mike Woods started us off with a history lesson on the mill and how the town was built around it.

The group was immersed in the looms, especially the new acquisition of the shuttle looms set to revive an old denim.

We stopped at 4L Rodeo for Charlie and Wanda Lowry to show us around the arena, share their history and property, and tell us how they put on rodeos all over the Southeast. We were blessed with a gorgeous warm day with some of the hardest working people in the county. What a view they have of Little Sand Mountain...perfect backdrop for a group photo!

We finished the day with a tour of Mohawk in the Summerville Industrial Park. Jonathan Skelley showed us around the recycling plant---the largest of its kind in the world!!!!

As part of our commitment to listening and learning alongside our community partners, Atrium Health Floyd is currently conducting its Community Health Needs Assessment. This assessment helps us better understand what is working, where gaps remain, and how we can more effectively align our Foundation’s priorities with the real needs you see on the ground.

We conduct this assessment every three years, and your perspective is especially valuable. I would encourage you to take a few minutes to complete the survey using the link below and to share it with colleagues, clients, or community members who want their voices heard.

The survey takes less than five minutes to complete, responses are confidential, and the feedback directly informs how Atrium Health Floyd invests, partners, and shows up for our region.

Thank you for being a trusted partner in this work. We are grateful to learn from you and to continue working together to improve health and wellness across our community.

SUPPORT THE ARTS!

The Tooga will once again be a performing arts venue and centerpiece in downtown Summerville. Until that time, please support the local arts in our schools, in our events, in our art environments and everywhere that is Chattooga.

A world without arts is a world without creative thoughts, chosen words, inspiring visuals and magnificent sounds.

Are we in your business? Are you in ours ?

It is ALL about building relationships.
