Spectrum Thin Films was born from the passion of it's President, Tony Pirera. His passion began in early childhood when he asked his parents for his 1st telescope. It was a small telescope because his parents could not afford a large Telescope. In his teenage years, he began to build his own large Telescope. He presented this telescope at the Stellafane convention for Amateur Telescope Makers, where he won awards. This Summer, Tony Pirera and Spectrum Thin Films gave back to the community by donating his Balzers Coating Machine to the Stellafane convention, where Amateur Astronomers, just like Tony Pirera himself, can coat their own mirrors for their Telescopes. |
