The Season of Giving

It feels good to give during the holidays. It feels good knowing you've made someone happy or given them what they need. Research proves there are even health benefits to giving. If you're curious, you can read all about it here.

At Project SAGE, we try to give our clients what they need to build futures free from violence, and we rely upon the support of our community to do so.

Please consider making a donation this holiday season and give the gift of safer and brighter futures to families in crisis.

Donations of all amounts are welcome and appreciated!

Spotlight on Project SAGE

Community Events

This year, Project SAGE celebrated our return to in-person attendance at community events after an extended Covid pause. Between June and October, Project SAGE distributed information and raised awareness at 17 events throughout the region, or an average of almost one awareness-raising event per week. Our representation included Canaan Railroad Days, Sharon Arts on the Green, Cornwall Agricultural Fair, Salisbury Fall Fest, Kent Pumpkin Run, and Falls Village Fall Festival, to name but a few. Our dedicated volunteers braved heat, rain, and last-minute changes to staff our tables.

We are grateful to all our partners for working tirelessly to help us build safer communities throughout the Northwest Corner.

TWO RECORDED WEBINARS

We can't stop domestic violence if we don't stop the perpetrators and hold them accountable. The first of these two related webinars reveals the underlying tactics, behaviors, and attitudes of men who abuse women. The second webinar details how to support recovery in children who have been exposed to violence at home. Watch either or both here: Lundy Bancroft Webinars

In the United States, people often think femicide -- the killing of women and girls because of their gender -- only occurs in Afghanistan and other so-called ‘developing’ countries. In reality, femicide is happening right here on an unimaginable level. Meet the global network of activists and citizens determined to document and end this violence: Femicide on the Front Page

When talking to youth about recognizing a predator or trafficker, it’s essential to focus on behavior and actions, not generalized characteristics. Traffickers are diverse and don’t always fit our assumptions or stereotypes. Although trafficking by strangers does happen, it’s more likely to be done by someone that a person knows or trusts. Find out more here: Who Is a Trafficker?
