ACADEMIC BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT

CSArts-SGV’s Academic Back-to-School Night is coming up on Thursday, September 5! Classroom presentations will be held from 5:30-7:35 p.m. in person on the CSArts-SGV campus. Click here for the Back-to-School Night worksheet, which includes a schedule and reminders. Please use your student’s classroom schedule (with room numbers) to fill in this worksheet, so you will know which classroom to go to during each block. You can access your student’s schedule via your Aeries Parent Portal. Students who are still on campus during Back-to-School Night can utilize the red tables in the Central Quad when not at a student event.

Parking will be available in the Highland Avenue Parking Lot, and overflow parking will be on Northview Field and on Central Avenue, east of Highland Avenue. 

Please note that unlike past years, conservatory classes will still take place on Thursday, September 5 prior to Back-to-School-Night, with a normal student dismissal time of 4:45 p.m.

RSVP FOR FALL FESTIVAL 2024

We are so excited to celebrate with our CSArts-SGV community on Saturday, September 14 at our third annual Fall Festival! If you have not yet submitted your RSVP, please click here to do so. Fall Festival 2024 will be held in the CSArts-SGV Central Quad and Northview Field from 5-7 p.m. The festival will feature special interactive art workshops for students in grades K-5, in addition to carnival-style games, performances, a dunk tank, a photo booth, and more! Food and beverages will be available for purchase. We hope to see you all there!

LOST & FOUND

If your student has lost any items at school, please ask them to check the Lost and Found located at the Front Desk. Keep in mind that storage space on our campus is scarce, so items that are left for longer than two weeks will be donated to local nonprofits. Lost and Found donations will take place on the first and third Fridays of each month. The next donation will take place at the end of the day on Friday, September 6. 

Additionally, be sure to join the Facebook group CSArts-SGV Lost and Found in order to see all future updates and lost items that are posted.

DELIVERIES

Please be reminded that deliveries such as food, balloons, and flowers are not permitted during instructional hours or Lunch, as they cause unneeded disruptions and impact our security and office staff. Any daytime deliveries will be stored and not available for students to pick up until after school is over for the day. For students who are remaining on campus for an after-school commitment, dinner may be dropped off in the CSArts-SGV Front Lobby at the end of conservatory classes.

LETTERMAN JACKETS

Level up your school spirit with a CSArts-SGV letterman jacket! As part of an annual conservatory fundraiser, you can now order a personalized letterman jacket for your student with their conservatory name on the front, graduation year on the sleeve, and last name on the back (optional). There is a choice between black faux leather or blue fleece. Click here to order yours today before the sale ends on Saturday, August 31.

ALL-SCHOOL MUSICAL AUDITIONS TODAY

Students in all grade levels and conservatories who are interested in auditioning for this year’s All-School Musical, Once Upon a Mattress, must participate in the Dance Call held today, Friday, August 23, from 3-9 p.m. in Studio D, in order to participate in the Vocal Call. Come dressed ready to dance, and please wear dance shoes, no sneakers. The Vocal Call will be held tomorrow, Saturday, August 24, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. in the Music Center Recital Hall (301). PARENT MEET & GREET BREAKFAST – THANK YOU

Thank you to all of the parents/guardians who attended the Parent Meet & Greet Breakfast this past Tuesday! It was so great to see all of you and get the year off to a really positive start.

PARENT CONNECT

CSArts-SGV’s new Parent Connect application is a hit! With over 400 users and growing, Parent Connect allows parents/guardians to “find” one another for either social gatherings or carpooling opportunities. Interested parents/guardians can complete this Parent Connect Opt-In Form to be entered into the system and sent more information. We hope that Parent Connect will enhance your CSArts-SGV experience!

PSAT EXAM

Attention sophomores and juniors: The PSAT will be offered on the CSArts-SGV campus on Saturday, October 26. You can register for the exam through MySchoolBucks until the deadline on Friday, September 6. While not all colleges require these exams, there are some private and out-of-state colleges that still recommend submitting test scores for admissions. There are also scholarship opportunities for juniors when they take the PSAT. If you have any questions, please contact Learning Specialist Ann Kim at ann.kim@sgv.csarts.net.

CALIFORNIA HEALTHY KIDS SURVEY

Please be informed that in October, all CSArts-SGV students will be asked to take an anonymous school survey that addresses school programs, culture, school safety, alcohol, tobacco, and other drug issues, as well as questions about the classroom experience. While student participation is voluntary, we hope that you will encourage your student to participate as their opinion and knowledge helps us to improve the school.

Again, the survey is anonymous and no names or any identifying information will be connected to the answers except for the name of the school.

Parents/guardians and staff will also be asked to complete a similar survey. This data helps our school continue to reflect on potential improvements and affects our California School Dashboard rankings. If you have questions, please contact administration@sgv.csarts.net. If you wish to view the survey, you may do so at the Front Lobby during school hours.

NEW FAMILY ONBOARDING SERIES

As a reminder, to assist new families (and anyone interested) in acclimating to CSArts-SGV, we have developed and are continuing to grow a New Family Onboarding Series, which educates viewers on many aspects of our unique school, from grading and safety to attendance and technology, and much more. Please check out this series at your leisure for the opportunity to earn raffle prizes at our upcoming Fall Festival!
