Gratitude and Inspiration

The Mountain Mission includes,
“…inspires people to build inclusive, meaningful, and sustainable communities.…”
This happens in many ways. Engagement of Mountain staff and board is essential, when this occurs in combination with Mountain members and friends, the outcome can be magical!
We are immensely grateful for the ongoing support of all of you, our Mountain community. The matching fund campaign in May was successful, and that inspires all of us as we go forward together.

This May matching initiative truly demonstrates how much people love The Mountain. Starting with a $50,000 offer to be matched, another donor offered an additional $25,000. That match was going well when yet another donor offered $25,000 to extend the match to a total of $100,000. So many of you joined this campaign, contributing $119,174.10. All of this will be matched, for a total of $238,348.20 in support of The Mountain!
For this initiative, donations could be directed to the annual fund, a special project or the endowment. For special projects, $6,000 is for staff housing, and $10,000 for a project yet to be determined. The Mountain Endowment Fund will receive $66,597, moving the Endowment closer to $700,000. The benefit to our annual fund is $165,751.20, supporting the work of our mission. We extend sincere appreciation to our generous contributors.

What a disappointment to cancel the Homecoming gathering, such an important annual event for The Mountain. We always look forward to hosting our Mountain community. This year, it was clear that our priority was keeping our Mountain community safe and healthy, given the surge of the current very contagious strain of COVID. We apologize for any inconvenience related to the cancellation of this event.
Although we could not meet in person, about 45 people joined our zoom community for the annual meeting. Thank you for joining, and it was so nice seeing folks who live further away and would not have been present in person.
The 2021 Annual Report, which we usually distribute during the Homecoming event, is available on the website governance page. If you would like a physical copy mailed to you please contact development@themountainrlc.org.

Wow, what a May it was! I am truly inspired with the outpouring of support both monetarily and the physical support from so many people. I can’t thank you enough for everything you do. My short time here has really shown me that I am so proud to lead this amazing organization. I am really home and feel so much love for this place already. Thank you for this opportunity and I am grateful for all of you!
