Hutton Will Not Seek Reelection
Sen. Rob Hutton (R-Brookfield) announced he will not seek re-election to the State Senate.

Legislature Looking to Help WisconsinEye
WisconsinEye turned off its coverage of the Wisconsin Legislature on December 15th. The organization has been unable to meet its financial needs to continue operations. The Legislature has been working to find a way to help them return to operations. A proposal has been introduced for circulation, and while three of the four legislative caucuses have been vocal in support, Senate Republicans have not come out in support of the proposal yet.
Joint Committee on Legislative Organization - A mail ballot dated January 30, 2026, has been distributed to Joint Committee members on the following:
- That the Joint Committee on Legislative Organization approve $50,000 in funding to the WisconsinEye Public Affairs Network, Inc., for operations costs to resume providing broadcast services for the Legislature for February 2026. The cost shall be divided equally between the Senate and the Assembly.
AB-974 WisconsinEye (Rep. Neubauer - D-Racine) A public affairs network trust fund, grants to the WisconsinEye Public Affairs Network, and making an appropriation.
