MES Yearbook Announcement

TAG Volunteer Sign-Up and Informational Meeting

The Traveling Art Gallery (T.A.G.) is an exciting art appreciation program in which parent volunteers introduce an artwork to kindergarten through fifth grade classrooms via a short, discussion-led presentation. The program is designed to promote visual literacy skills and is a unique opportunity to be involved in the classroom.

To be a T.A.G. volunteer you DO NOT need to have previous art experience! Presentations take place over three designated weeks during the school year (dates will be announced at the meeting next Wednesday). Presentations are up to 30 minutes in length and there is lots of information and support available to volunteers to maximize enjoyment for all. To make the most of your TAG experience we ask that volunteers deliver a presentation to at least three classes over the course of the three designated TAG weeks. So, that’s your own child’s class plus two more of the same presentations using the same print in the same grade level. If you have more than one child in the building and you are able, we welcome and appreciate you presenting in each of your children’s grade levels. As a presenter you schedule a mutually convenient date and time within the designated TAG presentation weeks directly with each homeroom teacher.

Please fill out the google form, via this LINK, if you are interested in volunteering. If you have more than one child at MES and/or would like to present to more than one grade level, please complete a separate volunteer form for each child. Once enrolled as a volunteer, you will be given lots of support material to help you prepare for your presentations. Email tagmarshallelementary@gmail.com with questions about the MES TAG program. THANK YOU!

Recycled Materials for Art

Thank you for donating so many hangers, cartons, and other recycled materials to the MES art department. We have received enough at this time. We hope you can join us on April 2 for the annual MES Art Show, “In the Garden.” We cannot wait for you to see the creative ways in which your donations have been turned into works of art.
